What is Blessed Unlimited?

Blessed Unlimited, in its shortest and simplest definition is how we say thank you, how we tell our story, and how we strive to motivate others. Blessed Unlimited is more than a brand or logo; It’s a dream and lifestyle intertwined in its trinity of meanings. It’s the first brand that’s more about the consumer than the producer. It’s the first brand that speaks to you every time you see it. It’s simple, it’s direct, and it’s ours. Yes, OURS. Yours too! If you choose to live a Blessed Unlimited lifestyle and B U. If you strive to be the best version of you. If you work to be better today than you were yesterday.

To be honest, at its core, that is what we are doing. We are living, learning, and growing. We are striving to be a better player, dad, student, brother, coach, person, etc. We will never pretend to be perfect, but we are working to be the best and reach our goals. And as we continue to grow and share our family story, we will also look to highlight others we encounter along the way. We want to include you on this journey! But before we do that, lets breakdown the meanings of Blessed Unlimited.

There isn’t a word I could use to better describe how I feel about our life and our journey. My children have a dream of achieving something in my area of expertise. My children could have wanted to be anything in this world but their passion and my passion is the same—sports . As an trainer and an educator, I don’t have to outsource a minute of their development unless we choose to. We are truly blessed to be able to have the ability and knowledge to do this all together.

We get to wake up, grind, recover, celebrate, fail, and win, all together. All those hours sweating, studying, crying, researching, that people don’t get to see we get to do together. The painful moments of defeat and the highs of winning we get to share together. It’s a dream come true to be able to share and pursue it this way. Although my children are still young, 13 and 8 as I write this, we have had more than our share of success in athletics.

When I decided I wanted to give our journey a name I knew I had to in some way include our faith and a way that I can thank God for the opportunity to compete and chase their dream. Psalms 28:7 – “The Lord is my strength… and with my song I will praise Him.” We are all blessed with individual skills and talents that make us unique. One of the gifts my children were given is the athletic ability to be able to play sports at a high level. Every kid isn’t able to do that. My children are blessed in other ways too. But when your talent lines up with your dream, it’s a blessing. So we embrace it, say thank you, and work as hard as we can to maximize that gift.

We choose to shoot for the stars and beyond. We don’t hide from competition or accountability. My children want to play in the NBA or NFL, and there is nothing wrong with that. And no, we don’t have a plan B. If we create a plan B then we are planning to fail, and we don’t. Society will say that’s foolish because 99.9% don’t make it. And we will say you’re right, 99.9% don’t make it, but don’t place your fears or limitations on us. We choose to be unlimited.

We choose to take our gifts and blessings and cultivate them. We choose to work hard and pursue our dream, our way. And our way isn’t limited to 300 jump shots a day. Being unlimited refers to the development of the whole person. We want to maximize our personal gifts physically, mentally, and spiritually. Football season runs from July to November, basketball season runs from January to July, school runs from August to May. But we choose to do all three year round, January to December.

Since they could walk they been in the gym and spending summers learning.

In our chase to be the best version of ourselves, we seek to develop and improve our skills and knowledge almost daily. Today for example, while I go to my first training session with other kids, Brysen and Myles will wake up and do their “school work.” They got out of school for the summer two weeks ago, but Myles is taking his first high school course online and Brysen will be working from various 4th grade texts. “Work comes before play,” I like to say.

Every day they will work out or do school work before they play video games or play outside. Later today we will get in a basketball workout and football workout since it’s Tuesday. They will also spend another session doing school work or reading before bed. Tomorrow we will work out together first, at the beach, if the weather allows. Then come home, get a little play in, then back to school work. Work every day, play every day. This summer, I’m trying be better about rewarding them. Try to do something more fun each week like go bowling, jump park, water park, etc. because if they are going to work out multiple times a day and do school work they deserve it.

You are special. There isn’t another person in this word of billions of people that is the same as you. You have gifts. You have talents. Use them. Why not pursue a life and career that utilizes your gifts and talents? We encourage you to be who you were called to be, not what life and situations have cornered you to be. Develop your whole person and create opportunities to live your passion.

Proud to be a part of West Augustine Baby Jackets football program.

For us, right now that is sports. Someday that passion may change, but as long as we continue to develop our whole person without limits, we can be whatever we want to be, which is the best version of ourselves in whatever avenue we choose. And today, tomorrow, and the foreseeable future, we choose sports. My kids are going pro! In the words of the great philosopher, Trinidad James, “Don’t believe me just watch!” We are excited to share our story along the way.
